Anglers Quest 2004 Twin Lake Saturday Series #20 on Lake Houston out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 36 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the GUARANTEED cash purse of $1320.00. This last event of 2004 began at safe light, which was 7:00 am. Weigh-in was conducted at 3:15 pm. The Top 25 teams will go to a 2-day Championship on November 13-14. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $105.00 per team.

Lake Houston water was in decent shape at about 25″ below normal pool level, with water temps running in the mid 70’s in the main lake and up north in the creeks and bayou’s. The weather at takeoff was a very nice and calm 64 degrees, which turned into a very nice afternoon at 82 degrees. The fishing and catching was decent on Lake Houston today as 7 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 58 bass at 132.74 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.28 lb.

The team of Robert Knappick from Houston & Steve Conard from LaPorte, Tx ran their Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to mid main lake areas to catch their limit of 5 bass casting Texas rigged worms and spinner baits to 1-6 ft piers and docks to end up with 17.11 lbs and collect the Guaranteed $1000.00 and 1st place. Robert & Steve also had the 1st Big Bass of the event, a fine 5.05 lber to collect an additional $126.00 to give them an $1126.00 payday.

Greg Crawford & Jesse Johnson from Huffman, Tx ran Greg’s Sprint/Mercury bass rig to Luces Bayou creek areas to cull from 8 keepers to their best limit of 5 bass flipping tx rigged soft plastics and throwing small crank baits to 1-3 ft laydowns and brush and ended up tipping the scales at 14.06 lbs to finish in 2nd place and collect $150.00.

David Wheaton & Tansley Bynog Sr ended up with the 2nd Big Bass of the day caught on a c-rigged worm in the E Fork area, a fine 4.94 lber to get them a check for $54.00.
