The 2012 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship is entering its seventh consecutive year, with each year’s field larger and more diverse than the prior. 400 students, representing up to 100 collegiate fishing programs, are expected to converge on Florence, Alabama and legendary Lake Pickwick the week of May 21, 2012 when the lake reopens. The Shoals Marriott Hotel will serve as Registration Headquarters, starting at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Students will be welcomed by a sponsor reception and treated to a banquet dinner prior to the pre-tournament meeting.

Collegiate anglers will launch daily at McFarland Park on the shores of Lake Pickwick, with weigh-ins to start daily at 2:30 pm. The collegiate team with the heaviest weight over the course of two competition days will be crowned National Champions at an awards ceremony immediately following the weigh-in on Friday. In addition to prizes, students are also competing for points in the coveted ACA School of the Year race, which is the first college rankings program to recognize the top collegiate fishing teams in the country, taking into account their participation across all leagues.
