Fishing Lake Amistad can create problems for many anglers. Do you just ride around looking at all of the fish in the crystal clear water trying to find that trophy bass? Do you just enjoy all the rock formations, the wildlife and the miles and miles of unspoiled shorelines? Not in this tournament, you catch fish after fish just about every place you stop .
Larry and Terri Fillmon fishing in their first year with CAST are leading in the standings after their first place finish and showing they will be a strong team all the way to the classic on Sam Rayburn.
Frank and Brandi Mixon said they boated fish all day to cull their way to second place 13.89 lbs.. Just looking at their faces you could tell they had a great time.
Third Place goes to a long time CAST couple, Barry & Janice Bennett of San Angelo. Proving that with time came knowledge and the ability to adapt. Barry changed fishing waters on Sunday reducing his fishing time by 11/2 hours, but still had a stringer of fish.
Big Bass and fourth place also goes to Cliff & Sarah Wagnor, regularly in the top six standings and a strong supporter of CAST.
Our next tournament is at Lake Proctor May 01, 05 headquarters Sowell Creek Park Registration on Sat. 5 till 6pm. at our RV Site and Sunday we will call boat numbers and lanuch from the ramp near the dam thru Sowell Creek Park at safe light.
Those baits from Academy Sports & Outdoors will work great on Lake Proctor so don’t forget to bring them. See ya there.
CAST is also blessed with some of the finest sponsors in the fishing industry like RANGER BOATS, MERCURY MARINE, ACADEMY SPORTS AND OUDOORS AND MISTER TWISTER BAITS along with LUXOR JEWLERS and FISHINGWORLD.COM.
