Anglers Quest 2007 Twin Lake Saturday Series # 13 on Lake Livingston out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 38 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $1405.00 purse. The event began at safe light, which was 5:55 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2008 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston. A special Top 7 group of teams will qualify to go to the “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler and will pay the winning team $10,000.00. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team.
Lake Livingston water, due to all the recent rain was in dirty shape and about 1 ft above normal pool level with water temps running 80-82 degrees. The weather at takeoff was 75 degrees, warming to 87 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing was really poor on Livingston as there were no limits brought to the scales, a total of only 23 bass weighing in at 55.32 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.43 lb.
The team of Larry Cotten & Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, TX ran Larry’s Skeeter/Evinrude bass boat to mid lake creek areas to catch their bass, flipping TX rigged baby brush hogs to seinie beans and shoreline grass in 1-4 ft of water. The day found them catching only 3 bass at 7.57 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $650.00.
Ricky & Charlotte Guy from Humble, TX ran Ricky’s TIREMAX wrapped Ranger/Yamaha bass rig to south lake creek areas to finish in 2nd with their best 3 bass, caught on TX rigged worms & small crank baits that tipped the scales at 7.54 lbs. Ricky & Charlotte had the 2nd big bass at 3.67 lbs to add $75.00 to their winnings to total $425.00.
Chris Wallace from Coldspring, TX ran his bass rig to various creek areas south of the 190 bridge fishing tx rigged soft plastics in 1-6 ft of water and finished in 3rd place with a total of 4 bass that tipped the scales at 7.51 lbs. Chris’s efforts payed him $215.00.
John Delapp & William Webb brought in the 1st big bass of the event today that tipped the scales at 5.83 lbs and made them a cool $115.00. They caught the big bass on a main lake point on a jig & craw worm combo.
Anglers Quest will be at Lake Houston Marina on Lake Houston on Tuesday, July 10 and at Inland Marine on Wednesday July 11 at Lake Conroe for the 15th of 23 Tuesday & Wednesday Series events. On July 21 Anglers Quest will be on Lake Houston for the 14th of 20 Saturday Series events.
