The sixth and final qualifier tournament for Arkansas’s Couples opened with sunny conditions with temperatures in the 70’s to mid 80′. The 15 couples caught 47 fish weighing 78.94 lbs with 6/5 fish limits.
First were Eddie Lindley and Caren Jenkins who caught 5 bass at 9.67 lbs to win the tournament and earn $525. They also had a 4.05 lbs Lunker worth $150.They used black and blue jigs on rocks in the mouth of Willow Beach.
Second were Will and Roberta Cranston who used green pumpkin Jewel jigs in the same area as the winners to weigh 9.52 lbs and earn $350.
Third were Cliff and Kathy Crowder. They used Senkos around wood in pool 5 earn them $250 for their efforts.
A big Drum pot of $55 was won by Danny and Sharon Waldo with a 9.86 lbs monster.
After 5 years of winning the Couples Angler of the Year title Will and Roberta Cranston yielded to William and Amber Hope who won the 2011 title and entry’s paid for 2012 season.
The next Arkansas Couples tournament will be the Championship on Table Rock Lake out of Mill Creek October 1-2, 2011
