Lowell Bennet and Billy Brewer Tuff-ed It Out To Win Stillhouse Tournament

The second qualifier for the 2005 Tuff Man, was held Sunday, November 14th, on Lake Stillhouse. Eighty seven teams participated with 65 teams weighing in fish. The tournament truly gave new meaning to Tuff Man as it started raining at 6:45 am and continued the downpour until the weigh in at 3:00 pm. Lots of lightning added to the excitement of fishing.

The fishermen weighed in a total of 254 bass with a total weight of 550 pounds giving an average weight of 2.17 pounds.

Fishermen who had previously qualified were also allowed to fish and were eligible for the cash awards.

First place of $2,000 went to Lowell Bennet and Billy Brewer (21.85 pounds) of Waco, Texas. Second place and $1,500 went to Danny Coppin and Bill Blackwell (16.23 pounds) of Belton, Texas. Third Place of $1,000 was won by Mike Hastings and Stephan Magnelia (16.05 pounds) of Austin, Texas. Cash prizes were awarded to 9 places and to the top two big bass caught by Lowell Bennett and Billy Brewer (6.01 pounds) and Jeff Giarrizzo and Robert Brown (5.45 pounds).

The final opportunity to qualify for the Tuff Man Championship is December 11th. This tournament is being held on Lake Belton out of Cedar Ridge Park near Pier 36 Marina. For more information please contact Rick Smith at Marine Outlet, at 1/800/880-1807.

First Place for the Championship is $7,500 plus contingency monies by National Bank of Gatesville, Texas; Ranger bass boats; Triton bass boats and Legend bass boats.
