With many uncertainties facing countless people in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, not the least of which is the rising price of gasoline, several inquiries have been made regarding the upcoming McDonald’s Big Bass Splash® event which is scheduled for Lake Fork, Texas on September 23 25. Sealy Outdoors, Inc. has long prided itself on the fact that their amateur bass fishing events are guaranteed to the anglers, regardless of the number of participants. This is a principle on which founder Bob Sealy has been unwavering. “Already this year, our events have been impacted by the fuel prices as apparent by the number of entries received, however, there are still those anglers who have planned on participating and will participate in the upcoming tournament and we will not let those folks down” said Sealy.
Additionally, Sealy Outdoors, Inc. is doing what it can to help raise funds to aide in disaster relief. In conjunction with Dale Trahan, owner/operator of the Paris, Commerce, and Sulphur Springs, Texas McDonald’s® restaurants who locally sponsors the Lake Fork event, a portion of the proceeds from the event will now be donated to disaster relief.
Historically the McDonald’s Big Bass Splash® tournament has donated a portion of the entry fees to the local owner/operator who sponsors the event, and that money is then given to the Ronald McDonald House® or Select Charities. “Over the past twenty years, and on various tournament lakes, Sealy Outdoors, Inc. has raised more than $1 Million to be donated in this manner and we are very proud to work with Dale on this occasion to help aid those in need due to the storm.”
The McDonald’s Big Bass Splash® will make its 19th Annual appearance on Lake Fork later this month. As usual, a large crowd, who enjoys the sport of fishing and is looking forward to this annual weekend of ‘family, fishing, and fun’, is anticipated at Lake Fork Marina. In the mean time, anyone wishing to contribute to the relief fund may contact the Sealy Outdoors, Inc. office by email at [email protected] to make arrangements for donations.
