MCE Television Networks, Inc, the producer of the Water Channel television and Club Blue shopping network, has named former Soundings Publications publisher and marine industry veteran Glenn Mallory as director of partnership development. George Sullivan, executive vice president of sales and marketing, announced the appointment.
Glenn Mallory is a media industry professional with more than 35 years of experience in advertising sales, management, and business development of consumer and trade magazines and Web sites. He began his career with Gannett Outdoor Advertising and then joined Soundings as a regional sales manager serving consumer magazine clients in the New York and Connecticut markets. When Woodshop News, a magazine for custom woodworkers, was launched Mallory was promoted to advertising director.
After leading a decade of advertising revenue and volume growth, Mallory was promoted to advertising director of all Soundings Publications products when the company was purchased by Trader Publishing Co., of Norfolk, Va. ย A year later, Mallory was named publisher of Soundings Publications, LLC, which also publishes Soundings Trade Only, a leading B2B covering the recreational marine industry. He holds the honorary title of Publisher Emeritus of Soundings. Mallory is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Yacht Restoration School (IYRS) and holds a 50-ton Masterโs License from the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Water Channel and Club Blue launch this week on the Dish Network, initially reaching approximately 12 million homes. ย The company will expand its reach in 2006 with Time Warner and Cox Cable increasing the networkโs homes to 32 million.
MCE also has partners in Asia with plans to launch the Water Channel and Club Blue in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and parts of Mainland China. ย ย
