The first qualifying Tuff Man bass tournament was held on Lake Limestone near Kosse, Texas, on Sunday the 19th of September. Sixty-eight Teams caught 178 fish with a total weight of 366 pounds for an average weight of 2.056 pounds. Sixteen teams did not weigh in fish. Total cash paid out was $6,680. As a CTMA certified tournament all fish were released back into Lake Limestone by weigh master Steve Karlik.
The Tuff Man Tournament Trail is sponsored by the Central Texas Marine Association consisting of Marine Outlet of Temple, TX; Gary’s Marine of Gatesville, TX; Central Texas Marine & Tackle of Waco, TX; and Texas Boat World of Harker Heights, TX. The top 15 finishers of each of the three tournaments are invited to fish the Championship Tournament that is held during the 2005 Central Texas Boat Show on January 15th. The winners of the Championship are crowned as the Central Texas Champions for 2005 and win a check for $7,500 plus several thousands of dollars in bonus coupons and certificates from manufacturers like Ranger, Triton, Gambler and Legend.
