Couples from across East Texas met for the first time this year to wash out those winter cob webs from their boats. That’s just what happened to William & Anna Polster, one of our couples, on Saturday before the tournament. With Rayburn’s low water level and spring’s windy cold fronts, beaching your boat on a sand bar will force you to do a little spring cleaning. Luckily for them another Cast couple was their to help.
Matching skills with one another and making good friendships is what Cast is about and Robert & Yoli Narron of Houston TX, are good at both. They brought in the day’s best catch of bass, five fish weighing 12.69 lb. Robert said they fished Buck Bay with Carolina rigged worms in 5 to 9 ft. of water. Their win fueled the friendly rivalry that has carried over from last year between them and the second place team Dan and Karen Nichol. The Conroe Tx, couple finished just behind the Narron’s with 5 bass/12.46.
Third place went to Brian Burkhalter and Liz Allison ofHouston TX. with 5 bass/12.04 lb. Liz also had Big Bass of the tournamentand her personal best with a 5.05 bass.
Rounding out the top six were, fourth Neil and Becky Herline of Silsbee TX, 5 bass/ 10.74, fifth, Ron and Sherry Chism of Houston TX, 4 bass/10.63, sixth, Rodney and Colleen Mitchell of Starks LA, 5 bass/9.66.
