Our fifth tournament was held on July 9th at the Ross Barnett. There were 7 couples fishing with 10 weighing a total of 34.70 lb.
This was a tuff tournament for most and a great one for some, but as you all know that’s fishing for you. The day was hot and we had only two couples to bring in a limit of fish that turned out to be the only fish brought in.
Our Angler’s of the Year Paula and Jimmy Carruth found fish and almost skunked the field, if it had not been for Mike Norsworthy’s local knowledge of the lake they would have blitzed it. Paula and Jimmy had 20.66 lb. with Cynthia and Mike having 14.04 lb. giving them first and second place. Paula and Jimmy also had the lunker of the day that weighed 5.78 lb.
Our next and last tournament will be August 9th at Chotard. Our Championship will be on the Ross Barnett on October 8th and 9th.
