With more than 50 years in the tackle storage business, Plano has always been ahead of the curve in developing innovative new storage solutions. The company also recognizes that keeping up with consumers is as important as keeping products current, so Plano has enlisted the services of industry experts to do just that.
Jason Say is a web and social networking expert who will lead an aggressive online marketing campaign to help Plano interact with its longtime loyal customers and the newer generation, alike. Say knows the outdoor recreation industry well through his development of the Pennsylvania Sportsman Portal and Wired Outdoors web sites. Through Say’s involvement and expertise, Plano will have a big presence on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, while also interacting with customers through live streaming video at shows and events, including the 2010 Bassmaster Classic.
Plano also recently hired Dollahon PR (DPR), whose co-owners have a combined 40 years of public relations experience. Gary Dollahon has worked in the outdoor recreation industry for more than 35 years and has worked with Plano in a variety of public relations and promotional capacities over a span of 20 years. DPR will keep the media and customers informed about and interested in Plano’s products, pro staff news and company information through a comprehensive public relations campaign. The Dollahons will also work closely with Say to provide timely and relevant content for Plano’s fishing and hunting products.
“Communication with our customers is more important than ever, and we’re excited to bring this solid team of experts on board to help us stay connected,” said Jesse Simpkins, Plano vice president of marketing. “Both parties are very talented in their respective areas, and their services will complement each other and Plano Molding Co. well.”
