The sixth tournament for Arkansas’s Couples opened with hot conditions with air temperatures 90-100 and water tempeture at 93. The 17 couples caught 28 fish weighing 75.10 lbs with 1/5 fish limits.
First were Steve and Malinda Powell who used brown and green jigs shallow around cypress knees and shallow brush to weigh 5 bass at 19.10 lbs to win the tournament and earn $725. They anchored there stringer with a 6.15 lunker earning them $179
Second was Jason Keen, he used frogs to weigh 7.13 Lbs and earn $350.
Third were Cliff and Kathy Crowder. They used Strike King jigs and rage tail trailers to catch 7.04 lbs and earn them $250 for their efforts.
The next Arkansas Couples tournament will be September 12th at North River Landing on the Arkansas River with registration at Fish’N Stuff on Saturday.
