Pressure Presentations

I’m Alton Jones, a Yamaha Pro from Waco, Texas. You know, one thing I like to do anytime I’m fishing lakes that get a lot of pressure is I like to try to figure out presentations I can use that maybe the fish haven’t been seeing.

I like to take some very unconventional type lures, and use them on a Carolina rig. A great example would be, Riverside’s Crawl Bug, so I’ll put it on a Carolina rig. Typically, people fish it on a jig head or on a Texas rig, but if you throw that bait on a Carolina rig, it’s amazing the number of strikes you can get. People are so keyed in on Carolina rigs. They use lizards, or they use little fresh fry type lures. But you know your big 10 inch worms, any of your crawfish imitators, almost any kind of plastic you can throw on any other rig will work great on a Carolina rig. And you’re giving the bass a different look. And that can make the difference between just enjoying a day on the lake or cashing a check if you’re fishing a tournament.By: Walker Agency
