Price’s Fool Richland Chambers Fish

After a two year absence from Texas and the great bass fishing we have here in our state, David and Monica Price of Huntsville TX., have started back up where they left off, ( in the winners circle). Twice in the years past they have won Anglers of the Year in CAST Southeast, and they are right back on track to do it again. On a day when fishing was extremely tough on Richland Chambers, Monica found a small stretch of bank that was holding fish in three feet of water. While David was throwing a white HORIZON spinnerbait and catching fish, Monica was following up with a craw worm rigged Texas style. Their five fish limit was the only one of the tournament and weighed 11.71 lbs. for first place. This was their second check in as many tournaments and David was very happy that he listened to Monica this time. Their knowledge of east Texas lakes was not lost when they moved to Florida, watchout everyone they’re back!!!

Hard work and devotion can pay off in this sport and that’s the qualities that the second place team of Johnie and Crystal Fountain of Porter TX., exhibited for their finish at this tournament. Johnie caught Big Bass, a 3.86 lb. fish which gave them a total of 6.41 lbs.,enough for second and two checks to take to the bank. Third place with two bass at 6.02 lb. were Bob and Marie Hughes of Lufkin TX. Something tells me this wasn’t their first time to finish high in the standings and wont be their last. Congratulations to the winners and those who caught fish on this tough day of fishing on Richland Chambers.

CAST Southeast is very fortunate to have friends like Larry Winters at Midway Landing. Larry sponsors our tournament each year and deserves your repeat business when you visit Richand Chambers,” THANK YOU” Larry. Also, a big “THANK YOU” to HORIZON Lure Co. for donating their spinnerbaits to our organization, and to Just A Thought… for door prizes that were given away.

Next Tournament … Toledo Bend – April 21 Lowe’s Creek Park. Registration Saturday April 20 3-5 pm at the store at Lowe’s Creek. Lowe’s Creek Park has new owners and they have built new cabins and spent alot of time rebuilding the park at this great location on Toledo Bend, so let’s show them our support and give them a call for your reservations ( 1-800-290-9489). See you there!!!

Don’t forget it just takes 250 points to make the CAST Classic were you could go home with a new RANGER BOAT and MERCURY MOTOR, given away as a DOOR PRIZE !
