Pro Greg Crawford & Am Dave Roberts

Anglers Quest 2005 Pro-Am Series Championship is now in the books, and the Pro-Am Series is complete for 2005. The event would have began with the Friday meeting, auctions, draw and awards presentation to the Top 10 back in September. BUT, Hurricane RITA held off all these activities until December 10-11. “Anglers of the Year”, Pro Tony Hawk & Am Tim Patterson were presented with their A/Q Angler of the Year Trophies at the Saturday weigh in. Since the Pro Am Series has been discontinued for the 2006 season, Tony & Tim will receive paid entrys to selected events of their choice in 2006. The Top 10 Pro & Am anglers of the year were awarded Top 10 Plaques with the statistics of all 7 2005 events engraved. This championship was supposed to have taken place on Lake Livingston, BUT because of Hurricane RITA and Livingston water level being at a dangerous level for boating, it was held on Lake Houston. The weather was great with cool mornings in the low 40’s and the highs being in the mid 50’s for the entire event. The lake was in the normal shape of stained water, at approximately 10″ below normal pool level.

Dave fished his 1st day with Pro partner Greg Crawford and caught his bass on small crank baits. Am Angler of the year,Tim Patterson from Humble, Tx weighed in 2 bass over the 2 days at 3.05 lbs to collect 2nd place and $350.00. • Again, because of the dam being damaged at Lake Livingston and the water level being at a dangerously low level for boating, Anglers Quest will do the first 10 Saturday Series events of the 2006 season January-May on Lake Houston. The second 10 events of the 20 will be conducted on Lake Livingston from June-October, giving the Trinity River Authority time to repair the dam and regain the lake level to a safe water level.
  • Anglers Quest would like to be sure every angler interested is aware of the Guaranteed $10.000.00 to the winner Super Team and “Tournament of Champions” Championship in 2006. The lake chosen for the Championship will be Lake Tyler in Tyler, Tx. There will be 7 Super Team events, January 28-February 25-March 18-April 22 on Lake Conroe and 2 events on Lake Livingston, May 27-June24 and 1 on Lake Houston July 29. Entering all 7 of these events will guarantee your team going to the “Tournament of Champions” OR be in the Top 10 in points in the Super Team standings after the final event. The Anglers Quest Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday Series will also have their own individual Championships as usual, BUT will also take the Top 5 in the standings after the final events to the “Tournament of Champions”.
