Ramey Wins Bass Fishing League Michigan Division On The Detroit River

WHAT: Boater Randy Ramsey of Battle Creek, Mich., caught a five-bass limit weighing 21 pounds, 14 ounces Aug. 28, 2010 to win $5,296 in the BFL Michigan Division tournament on the Detroit River. Under sunny skies with a light wind Ramsey was power fishing around rocks with crankbaits to sack his limit.

WHAT: Bob Eastman of Hartland, Mich., caught a five-bass limit weighing 19 pounds, Aug. 28, 2010 to win $1,648 in the Co-angler Division. He was using a drop-shot with crankbaits in rocky areas to catch his limit.

NOTES: The next and last BFL Michigan Division tournament is scheduled for Sept. 18-19 on the Detroit River in Trenton, Mich. After the fifth Michigan Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 21-23 Regional Championship on Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
