Hi, I’m Frank Scalish, 2002 Team Yamaha Classic Qualifier. Fishing shallow water spinner baits can be a lot of fun. When the water is dirty, a trick I like to do, is put oversized Colorado blades on a light spinner bait. This gives me the ability to just hover the bait in the water column, through cover, around timber, and so forth.
What this does is it gives the bass time to hoan in on the vibrations of the oversized blades. Most spinner bait strikes occur because of flash and sight. But in dingy water you need to kick as much vibration as you can. So by adding bigger Colorado blades, and slowing your presentation down, you’ll be catching bigger fish in the long run.By: Walker Agency
