Shims Allow for Curved Surface Mounting

When it comes to boats, there aren’t too many right angles. Many of the surfaces and parts feature round or curved edges that make mounting accessories like a bimini top a bit tricky. Accon Marine has developed a new plastic shim that allows its 401 Quick Release Bimini Hinges to be mounted on a curved surface.

Made of high grade plastic, the shims come in three different radiuses, 1.9″, 2.3″ and 3.0″, to fit different size tubing. The silver shims match both stainless steel and aluminum and are easy to install.

The 401 Quick Release Bimini Hinge is made of 316 stainless steel and features a low profile design. It makes installing or removing the top easy because there are no pins or screws to lose. The hinge simply snaps into the base and stays attached to the bimini when separated.

The plastic shim for the 401 bimini hinge retails for $2.33. The 401 bimini hinge is $22.40.

Accon Marine has a full line of high-quality, flush-mounted marine hardware. The company is the originator of the Pop-Up Cleatยฎ, and also manufactures line chocks, ski tows, tie downs, navigation lights, push pole holders, bimini hinges and bottom mount hinges.
