Skeeter Donates ‘Boat Load of Toys’

Once again, Skeeter will spread some Christmas cheer to children around East Texas, as the company distributes more than 550 toys donated to the company by its owners as part of the company’s ‘Boat Load of Toys’ program.
 
The toys were donated during Skeeter’s Owner’s Tournament held on Lake Fork.  The company’s 2008 Owner’s Tournament was one its largest ever, with participation exceeding more than 800 boats and 1,500 anglers.
 
“Our ‘Boat Load of Toys’ program was initiated by Skeeter, but our owner’s are responsible for its success,” says Daren Cole, Marketing Manager for Skeeter Products, Inc.  “Each year, we ask those participating in our Owner’s Tournament to bring a new toy, and our owners always step-up and show their support for a great cause,” says Cole.
 
The toys will be distributed through several non-profit organizations located in Gregg, Wood and Smith counties in East Texas.  The charities include: the ‘Christmas Sharing’ program located in Quitman; Mineola Caring & Sharing, Inc., located in Mineola; the Presbyterian Children’s Home and Services, located in Kilgore, and Hope Haven Home for Women and Children, located in Longview.
 
“Our organization is truly blessed to have such a caring and compassionate company like Skeeter located in our community,” says Sonia Henson, Director of the Hope Haven Home for Women and Children.  “We are humbled by their gratefulness, and send a sincere thanks to all of the Skeeter owners who donated toys through this great program.  I only wish each and every owner could see the smiles on our children’s faces on Christmas morning â it is a wonderful sight,” she added.
