Springtime Fishing Tips

Hi I’m Mark Hardin, Team Yamaha member. A couple of the springtime fishing tips, for clear water lakes. I grew up on Lake Linear, and I’m accustomed to fishing clear water. A lot of what I like to do is using light line either P line or trolling, either one, fishing finesse type fishing around boat docks usually 8 pound test line with either 1/8 or 3/16 type sinker. Fish will come shallow to boat docks near the spring when the water’s warming up. The covered boat houses that are made of metal will warm up faster. And you’ll catch a lot more fish around those type of houses.

Another aspect is fishing jerk baits on Lanier, it’s a real good lake to do that because of the clear water. A lot of it is you’ll be fishing out in 15-20-25 feet of water throwing over brush piles, and getting the fish to come up out of the brush piles. Again, because of the clear water, you’re using about 8 pound test line. That’s a good way to catch some of the big spotted bass that are in Lake Lanier.By: Walker Agency
