New Avid Surf rods maximize your oceanic endeavors with lightweight power and long casts
We dare say nothing puts you nearer the awe and majesty of nature than surf casting. Salt mists knifed from the top of breakers. Back drawing tide digging trenches in the sand around your feet. The white noise roar that puts sailors to sleep and sets the mood for murder mysteries. And then racing in waders at the retreating sea to cast for Neptune, before scurrying back and planting the rod in a sand spike.
Really, is there a more dramatic and dynamic way to fish? How about live your life?
Outfitting surf casters for decades, St. Croix Rod promotes the seaside fishing experience by building premium surf fishing rods that won’t drown your wallet. The all-new series of high performance Avid Surf rods are lightweight, powerful and designed to maximize casting distance while minimizing your cash layout. Made specifically for fanatical surf anglers, the 11-model series make long days of challenging the surf more enjoyable than ever before.
Built on premium, high-modulus SCIII graphite blanks designed and manufactured using St. Croix’s proprietary Integrated Poly Curve (IPC) tooling technology for continuous-curve tapers, all two-piece models feature off-set, slim-profile ferrules to deliver one-piece casting performance.
The Avid Surf rods are finished with Fuji K-Series Concept Tangle Free guides with Alconite rings and black frames, which are ideal for super braid, mono and fluorocarbon lines because the sloped frames and ring ?shed? tangles before they become a problem. With Fuji MN style tops, Fuji DPS reel seats, and custom cork tape handles with machined delrin trim pieces, the Avid Surf series represent the latest in rod component innovation. Finally, all thread wraps are protected by two coats of Flex Coat slow-cure finish. The series retail range is $230 – $380.
All Avid Surf rods are designed and handcrafted in Park Falls, WI and protected by a lifetime warranty backed by St. Croix Superstar Service.
Name your game. Stripers off Montauk or the Outer Banks? Pompano off Florida’s Atlantic seaboard? California flounder? Or perhaps cod off the cliffs in Wales? Regardless, St. Croix’s new Avid Surf series aims to add fresh fish to the ultimate dramatic and dynamic fishing experience.
