Steve Brister Wins NY The Bsss Fedeeation Lake Champlain/ticongeroga Tournament

New York The Bass Federation (NYTBF) held their first points tournament of the 2016 season on Lake Champlain with launch and afternoon weigh-in out of Ticonderoga NY. Lake Champlain rates as one of the top bass fishing destinations in the country and serves as the annual season opener for the NYTBF.

This year anglers were met with ever changing weather conditions leading up to the tournament which resulted in lighter than normal weights, but plenty of five fish limits crossed the scales with several mixed bags of large and smallmouth bass.

Boater Division

Steve Brinster took top honors with a limit weighing 17.55 lbs. that he anchored with the tournament lunker weighing 5.30 lbs. Securing second place was Cory Baright with 16.30 lbs. and his big bass went 3.65 lb. John Claeys took third place with a weight of 16.10 lbs. and rounding out the top five were Luke Musto with 15.00 lbs. and Bobby Williams with 14.35 lbs.

Co-Angler Division

Kevin Grist won the Co-Angler division with 12.70 lbs. Dave Diodato took second place with a weight of 10.45 lbs. Steve Phipps placed third with a 9.80 lb. limit and rounding out the top five were Dave Dumas with 9.25 lbs. and Ryan Connors with 8.80 lbs.
