The KBF held its final event in the 2010 Qualifying Season on June 20th at Barkley and Kentucky Lakes. This event also concluded the race for Anglers of the Year for 2010.
In the Angler Division, Steven Taylor held on to win his first Angler of the Year title. Taylor held a commanding point’s lead going into the final event and knew he only needed one fish to lock down the title. “I put an enormous amount of pressure on myself to win this title and probably didn’t handle it very well. When you start out the day knowing you only need one fish and the bite changes, things can fall apart rather quickly. I started fishing way to fast and was not relaxed at all. My one and only keeper fish came at 11:30 and the pressure lifted from my shoulders was incredible.” And that was enough to be crowned 2010 KBF Angler of the Year.
In the Co-Angler Division Ken Freeman continued his year long consistent performance with a solid 5th place finish in the Barkley event which was more than enough to lock in his new title as 2010 KBF Co-Angler of the year. Freeman also had the most weight for the year of all contestants.
Congratulations to Steven Taylor and Ken Freeman on an outstanding year!
Don Tomlinson won the Angler division at Barkley Lake with 16.94 lbs. Tomlinson caught his winning catch by throwing a big worm on drops. Finishing second was Cliff Flourney with 16.30 lbs. Rounding out the top 8 Anglers was Ronald Rowlett, Kyle Ramer, Tommy Hall, Stewart Weber (he is the 3rd in the family of Weber’s to qualify this year) Randy Findley and Michael Bean.

This was Doug’s first win as a KBF participant. Placing second was Johnny Cooper with 16.60 lbs. Rounding out the top 8 was Daniel Manypenny, Gary Cato, Johathan Durham, David Young, Tim Tester and Greg Stevens.
The top 8 boaters and co-anglers qualified for the prestigious 2010 State Championship to be held in October on Green River Lake.
