The 2006 Stuart Boat Show, scheduled for January 13-15, celebrates its 32nd year with a new location, more docks and increased land-based display space.ย Still located on the north side of the St. Lucie River in Stuart, Florida, the show is moving west of the Roosevelt Bridge to take advantage of dock space offered by three side-by-side marinas and to utilize additional land space.
Show producer Rick Allen said the marina partnership provides a perfect backdrop and will include hundreds of boats in-water and on land where State Road 707/Old Dixie Highway will be closed.
“By diverting traffic off the highway, we’re gaining about a half-mile of land space and that’s a big help,” said Allen.ย “Connecting the marinas gave us the opportunity to create a larger in-water venue.”
The 2004 hurricane season destroyed much of the show’s previous location.ย To help keep the 2005 show afloat, Allen built a quarter-mile of floating docks, which will be used to create even more space for the 2006 show.
The Stuart Boat Show will include more than 200 exhibitors, including all the major boat manufacturers, latest gadgets, accessories, electronics, equipment and financing and insurance, too.ย There’s also free parking and a complimentary water taxi connecting the show and downtown Stuart.
