Team Daiwa “Fuego™” Brings Magnesium Advantages

Plus Greater Affordability

Bringing Magnesium’s lightweight strength to a more affordable price range are two new Team Daiwa Fuego™ baitcasting reels, the right handed TD FUEGO and mirror-image left hand version TD FUEGO L.

Pick one up and the first thing you feel is the weight, better said the lack of it, thanks to an ultra-lightweight Magnesium frame and sideplate. This also provides a rigid, flex-free housing to support the gear train for less wear and greater winding power.

The next thing you feel is the shape. The reels set lower on the rod than most equivalent sized reels. Yet even with this compact, low-profile palming shape, Fuego™ (Foo-way-go, Spanish for Fire) packs in plenty of line capacity for just about any freshwater fishing need.

For maximum casting performance, the reel’s free-floating spool is kept under control by Daiwa’s new Magforce®-Z system, applying smooth magnetic braking only when needed most to help control backlash. With this new system, the spool starts faster, climbs to a higher speed and keeps spinning longer with virtually no drag from the magnetic system. A simple dial quickly tunes in the perfect amount of anti-backlash control for your skill level or special wind and lure conditions. Adjustments are easy and external, with no need to take the reel apart. MSRP for right or left-handed versions is $229.95.
