Anglers Quest 2007 Twin Lake Saturday Series #17 on Lake Livingston out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 44 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $1630.00 purse. The event began at safe light, which was 6:30 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm.
All Anglers Quest Series after the qualifying events will provide the team anglers of the year with free entries to all 2008 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston. A special Top 7 group of teams will qualify to go to the “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler and will pay the winning team $10,000.00. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team.
Lake Livingston water was about normal pool level with water temps running 85-87 degrees. The weather at takeoff was 72 degrees with a warming to 91 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing was really good on Livingston as there were 12 limits brought to the scales, a total of 81 bass at 184.57 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.27 lb.
The husband and wife TIREMAX sponsored team of Ricky & Charlotte Guy from Humble, Tx ran their Ranger/Yamaha bass boat to mid lake creek areas to catch their bass flipping Texas rigged junebug brush hogs to seinie beans and shoreline cover in 1-4 ft of water. The day found them catching 3 limits of bass to cull and bring in their best 5 that tipped the scales at 13.37 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $635.00 for their day on the water.
Larry Cotten & Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran Chris’s Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to south lake creek areas to finish in 2nd with their best 5 bass, caught on Texas rigged baby brush hogs & spinner baits that tipped the scales at 13.35 lbs. One of their bass was the Big Bass of the event at 4.59 lbs. Larry & Chris collected $455.00 for their day on the water.
Another husband & wife team of Jason & Melissa Bennett from Oakhurst, Tx ran their bass rig to various creek areas south of the 190 bridge fishing Texas rigged soft plastics in 1-6 ft of water and finished in 3rd place with a total of 5 bass that tipped the scales at 13.30 lbs. One of their bass was the 2nd big bass of the event at 4.33 lbs. Their efforts paid them $340.00 for their day on the water.
David Marlow from Lynchburg and Chris Williams from LaPorte, Tx came to the scales today with 5 bass at 12.78 lbs to garner 4th place and collect $200.00 for their efforts.
Anglers Quest will be at Lake Houston Marina on Lake Houston on Tuesday, September 4 and at Inland Marine on Wednesday September 5 at Lake Conroe for the final of 23 Tuesday & Wednesday Series events. On September 15 Anglers Quest will be on Lake Houston for the 18th of 20 Saturday Series events.
