Texas Fishermen Excited About PTTTs “New” Open Team Format

Only a few weeks away before fishermen from across the state will converge on Lake Amistad to compete in a “New” format of Team bass fishing sponsored by Ranger Boats and Mercury Marine. Pro Team Tournament Trail, Inc. (PTTT) will conduct its first event of the season on March 1st in Del Rio, TX at Scenic Lake Amistad.

The PTTT events are designed to attract the largest number of competitors possible by featuring huge paybacks, affordable entry fees, no membership or subscription fees, and bonus prize money for anglers registered in the Ranger Cup Program.

The guaranteed first place prize at each event is a Ranger 519 VS bass boat, fully rigged with a matching Ranger Trail Trailer, Mercury 200 EFI outboard motor, MinnKota trolling motor and Garmin electronic fish finder. Cash prizes will be paid to 2nd thru 25th place in the “total weight” category and 1st thru 10th place in the “big bass” category. With a field of 200 teams participating, the total payback including sponsor prizes will exceed $65,000 and the entry fee is only $250 per team.

The first event on Lake Amistad will be featured on the popular outdoor show called Fishing & Hunting Texas with host Wade Middleton. Fishing & Hunting Texas show airs on Fox Sports Southwest, which is viewed by over 6.8 million households.

Tournament Director and Emcee Mike Hastings said, “my phone has been ringing non-stop with fishermen wanting more information and to know where to sign up. The fishermen really love the whole concept. It was our goal to design a circuit that was affordable and would allow fishermen to compete for a large purse and I think weve done that. The PTTT circuit will also provide statewide exposure for our sponsors and their products.”

PTTTs new and innovative concept, combines aspects of a big bass tournament with a traditional team tournament. More anglers will have an opportunity to earn a check due to the fact that in addition to paying 25 places for “total weight”, PTTT will also pay 10 places for “big bass”. Tournament organizations typically only pay 1 – 3 places for “big bass”. In addition, Ranger Boat owners who are registered in the Ranger Cup Program will have the opportunity to earn up to $1,000.00 in bonus prize money at each event.”

The other exciting aspect of the “Open” Team Tournaments allows anglers to compete in all (6) events or as little as one event. Anglers may fish with one partner, change partners or even fish these events as an individual. Other events are scheduled May 3/ Lewisville, June 21/Cedar Creek, Sept. 13/Travis, Sept. 27/Texoma & Oct. 25/ Sam Rayburn.

Anglers may register online by credit card, by mailing, faxing and on site registration. Anglers who pre-register by deadline date for the event will be eligible for a free entry fee into the next event.
