The Fishing Fracas Begins With a Melee

New BOOYAH Melee bladed jig

As the name suggests, the new BOOYAH® Melee™ bladed jig causes so much disturbance that bass can’t help investigate the commotion. BOOYAH pro Jason Christie cast his prototype Melee under boat docks and along grass beds to great success in the 2018 Bassmaster Classic. Eventual third place finisher Christie led most of the world championship tournament with the Melee as his primary bait.

The Melee, thanks to its head and blade attachment design, can be fished around stumps, laydowns, brush and grass beds. Use this bait anywhere a squarebill or spinnerbait can be thrown. The lure is also valuable in deep water and will stay down in the water column when retrieved and not rise like other bladed jigs.

The lead core head is covered with polycarbonate. When the blade strikes the head, a distinctive sound is created the bass have never heard. The thinner blade on the Melee adds to the bait’s vibration and action during the retrieve. The long shank 5/0 hook with wire keeper secures the trailer to the Melee.

The Melee is available in two weights, 3/8 and 1/2 ounce, and nine head and blade color combinations. The MSRP is $8.99.
