2007 season set to hit the air in October
The Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup is coming to a television set near you with an unprecedented 13 weeks of back-to-back new programming. The schedule kicks off on Oct. 6 with the All Star Icebreaker event in Clearwater and runs every Saturday through the end of the year, culminating with a one-hour special on Dec. 29 devoted to the upcoming championship that will be held in conjunction with the Pensacola Seafood Festival September 21-23.

Oberto Redfish Cup,” said David Healy, vice president of sales and sponsorship for the Cup. “The expanded 13-week schedule gives our anglers an even greater chance to get their name out there on national television while entertaining the millions of fishing enthusiasts across the United States.”

This year each show from the 2007 season will air in a 30-minute format, with All Star events split into two-part episodes. The season finale will be a one-hour special covering the championship in Pensacola.
Each Redfish Cup episode chronicles event by event action from the nation’s most prestigious saltwater tournament circuit as teams compete against the clock and each other for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Cameras on the water, in the boat and from the air give fans a first-hand account of the strategies and skill involved in every cast, and the dramatic final day weigh-ins always provide a thrilling conclusion, crowning the champions and sending them home with a huge payout.
About the Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup:
In it’s fifth year, the Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup is the nation’s premier inshore saltwater fishing championship. The 2007 schedule consists of six OPEN events in two divisions, three All-Star events and the Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup Championship. It is the proving ground for the nation’s top professional redfish anglers. Full tournament coverage can be seen each Sunday at 7 a.m. EST on ESPN2 beginning in April.
