Texas North Central Division
The team of Tom Ward & Dave Cahal won Texas North Central’s third tournament of the year with 19.38 lbs. With Joey Ridgle Septic Service’s $1000.00 signature bonus, they won $3262.50. Tom & Dave were using a Texas rig in six to ten foot of water. They also had a kicker fish that weighed 7.69 lbs.
With Lake Tyler still 3 foot low, and 20 mph winds, all of the grass that our anglers are use to fishing around was gone. This made for tough fishing for most.
Our 2nd place team was Kenny Stewart & Ryan Cannon with 5 fish that weighed 16.94 lbs. They took home $720.00. Coming in third was Troy Slaughter & Ricky Phillips with 5 fish weighing 15.24 lbs. They caught their fish using shaky heads and won $797.50. 4th Place went to Joe Moss & Joel Howell with 5 fish weighing 14.81 lbs. They won $585.00. Rounding out our top five was Marlon Lydia & Anthony Jones with 5 fish weighing 13.69 lbs. They won $300.00. Big Bass honors went to Charles Johnson with a 8.13 lb hog. He won $250.00
In all we had 50 teams to fish. We paid out eleven places with the first team out of the money receiving a pair of $150.00 rods donated by Gander Mtn. in Tyler. Mike Ware & Jerry Oden won these rods.
Central Baptist Church hosted our Friday night banquet. They fed us all we could eat. The smoked brisket, tater salad, and beans was delicious! Our student pastor, Joel Byer brought the devotion. He spoke out of Corinthians, and told us that Christ had already cast out His line and hooked us in our hearts. It’s up to us weather we are going to fight, or let Him reel us in.

Next moth we will be back at Lake Palestine. Our Friday night banquet will be at 1st Baptist Church in Bullard. We are having Texas East Division to come fish with us. Our pay out will be separate, but we should have 100 teams to compete. Please remember to invite your spouse. We have a lot of nice door prizes for our wives! When you send your entry in be sure and let me know how many folks you are bringing. We want to be sure and have enough food for everyone.
