Ben Hollingsworth has often been said to know more about the Delacroix and Caernarvon marsh than anyone else. It is often more of a hindrance than a help, because there is always another spot to fish that is probably better. Ben did not let it affect his game plan and stayed on the fish he had found in practice until he had put together a 13.00 lb. stringer. He reports that he did spend some time later in the day looking for a kicker to clinch the win, but as it turned out he did not need to worry.
Second place was taken with 12.95 lbs. by Bill Hardman from Metairie who came up just 5/100’s of a pound short. Wow, that is seriously close!
The third place angler was a local expert that always seems to be in the money at Delacroix. Fresh off a win at the Mardi Gras tournament was David Williams with a 12.65 lb. stringer.
Fourth place went to yours truly with 12.30 hard to catch pounds of lock jawed bass.
Fifth was Chris Evans with 12.15 lbs.
Sixth weighed in at 11.80 by Joel Lee.
It Was Tough for Delacroix!
The big bass and heavy stringer pots are probably safe for now since the fishing was so tough. It is supposed to take 20+ pounds for a Delacroix tournament this time of year.
The Next One!
The next one is also at the Delacroix Corp. launch. It will be April 9 and the big stringers are just waiting for you.
