Treble hook fishing

Hereâs a really good tip on what I call treble hook lure fishing. You’ve heard people talk about this technique in crank bait fishing, but I go a step further and use about any lure that has treble hooks. Examples are crank baits, top waters, jerk baits, small little in-line spinners. I like to use a fiberglass rod. Thereâs three basic principles to the fiberglass rod. Itâs âgiveâ drives the treble hook lure as it lets the fish get a solid hold before you feel it and pull it away. Graphite rod are stiff and sensitive, so you’re probably going to pull the bait away from the fish. With a fiberglass rod, it’s forgiving; it allows the fish to eat the bait a little bit better. The second plus to using a fiberglass rod would be that you land 100% more fish. What happens is when the fish is surging next to the boat, he’s jumping, he’s thrashing, and the forgivingness of the glass rod will actually bend and give to the fish, so you’re going to increase your ratio. So for any type of treble hook lure fishing, I’d go to a fiberglass rod.By: Walker Agency
