World Cat, builder of offshore power catamarans, has been awarded the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) CSI award for excellence in customer satisfaction as a top maker of fiberglass
outboard boats for a second year in a row. Pete Peterson, VP of marketing, accepted the NMMA’s highest recognition during the 2005 International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) on
October 21st at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Fifty-one boat and engine manufacturers were recognized at the annual IBEX Industry Awards Breakfast & Keynote Presentation on Friday morning for excellence in customer satisfaction as part of the NMMA’s
Customer Satisfaction Index program. Only nineteen builders received the distinction in the fiberglass outboard boat category.
The CSI reporting process is currently a voluntary part of the NMMA certification process. The process becomes mandatory for certification in 2007 for most boat builders. For World Cat’s part, the company
administers two surveys over the first twelve months of boat ownership with the results being tabulated by Avala, a non-interested third party.
“We’ll be back,” remarked Pete Peterson, adding that great service does not stop at the end of the first year. “We host online forums, arrange rendezvous, and require yearly certification by both sales and
service personnel all to keep up with exactly what our customers want. With marketing and customer care so attuned to our boating family, we are confident our owners will stick with us (and boating) for years to come.”
