Wacky Worming Works

My name’s Bud Pruitt, from Spring, Texas, I’m part of the Yamaha Pro Staff. A technique I really am fond of, and it’s really gotten popularity over the last 5 years, is wacky worming. It’s kind of a finesse power bait, you can catch them as big as they get and you can catch some numbers on this bait. It’s really a great spawn, post-spawn, technique.

I like to fish it on 10 pound line, 3 straight chain, mustad style hook. Any sort of straight worm will do. You hook it in the egg sack, put a little nail on the head, and you can fish it so many different ways. It’s so versatile and it’s really a fish magnet, when the fish especially come off the beds, and they’re in that post-spawn attitude and they’re really not wanting to chase the bay around. I think wacky worm has got to be the biggest secret that I know of to catch those kind of fish that typically won’t chase a spinner bait or something like that.By: Walker Agency
