Anglers Quest 2010 Houston Weekend Team Series #7 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 40 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $2700.00 purse. This event got started at 6:15 am after the playing of the National Anthem. The weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Houston Weekend Team Series after all 9 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2011 Houston Weekend Team Series events.

<> All A/Q lake series championships have been reinstated for 2010 and will be done on home series lakes. The teams qualifying for any championship will automatically qualify for all 4 lake series Championships. Top 25 in pounds from any Weekend Team with 5 events entered or 4 Individual Series with a minimum of 4 events entered will also qualify for championships. If you qualify for any A/Q Championship you will also qualify to go to the 2-day “Tournament of Champions” on November 13-14 on Lake Palestine.

Lake Houston water was in good shape and at about normal pool level with water temps running 86-90 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a very warm 78 degrees with a warming to 97 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was good on Lake Mud today as there were 8 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 66 bass at 139.65 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.11 lb.

The one man team of Wade Byron from Humble run his bass rig north to Luces Bayou & E Fork brush to catch his bass flipping tx rigged worms in 2-6 ft of water. Wade managed to catch 10-12 keepers to finish in 1st place with the best 5 that tipped the scales at 13.99 lbs. He made $1200.00 for his day on the water.

The team of Danny StAndrie from Huffman & John Littleton from Humble run Danny’s BassCat/Mercury bass rig to north & south lake areas to probe shallow brush with their rods & reels to catch their bass flipping tx rigged worms with Tungsten weights & Stanley jigs and spinner baits in 2-6 ft of water. They managed to catch 8-9 keepers to finish in 2nd place with the best 5 that tipped the scales at 12.59 lbs. Their day on the water paid them $700.00.

The team of Jason Reyes from Huffman, Tx & Josh Heiliger from Richmond run Jason’s Tracker/Mercury bass rig to north lake docks & piers with brush to finish in 3rd with their best 5 bass, caught on H & H rods & Shimano reels tipped with a variety of lures that weighed in at 12.54 lbs. Jason reported catching 10 keepers throughout the day. Their day on the lake payed back $400.00 for their efforts.

The team of Dean Coleman & Jimmy Emmons Jr from Humble run Jimmy’s Champion/Yamaha bass rig to north & south lake docks & piers to finish in 4th with their best 5 bass, caught on their rods & reels tipped with a variety of lures that weighed in at 11.82 lbs. They also had the big bass of the event at 4.56 lbs. Dean reported catching 9 keepers throughout the day. Their day on the lake payed back $300.00 for their efforts.

The team of Wade Hester from Conroe & Jeff Sralla from Spring received the 1st place out of the money Santone & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates with 5 bass at 11.21 lbs. The entire results from this and all A/Q events put on by Anglers Quest can be viewed at the anglers-quest website.

The Lake Houston Tuesday Series started on March 30th and will continue for 23 weeks until August 31st at 6:00-9:15 pm at Lake Houston Marina. The Wednesday Conroe Series started on March 31st and will continue for 23 weeks until September 1st at 6:00-9:15 pm at El Dorado Jack’s on Lake Conroe. Both of these series will have their own home lake championships in October.

Anglers Quest will be at Lake Houston on Sunday August 1st for The Shane Hawk Benefit. Come on out and enjoy a day on the water & off with a fine group of guys & gals and help make this benefit for the Hawk family a great success. Entry fee will be $100 per team OR donate what you can. You will be given raffle tickets for your entry. There will be a raffle drawing for a lot of really nice prizes. There will also be hamburgers and hot dogs at weigh in for the participants. Raffle tickets will be $5 each or 5 for $20. All proceeds will be 100% donated to the Hawk family.

On Wednesday July 28th A/Q & Tiremax will present the first of 3 over 100% payback Wednesday Conroe tournaments. Entry fee $100.00 per team?NO membership or championship fees.

On August 7th & 8th A/Q will be at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle on Lake Livingston for the 8th of 9 Weekend Team & Individual Series events. On August 14th & 15th A/Q will be at Mill Creek Park on Sam Rayburn for the 8th of 9 Weekend Team & Individual Series events. We will be at Lake Conroe at El Dorado Jack’s on August 21st & 22nd for the Individual Series on Saturday & the Team Series on Sunday. A/Q will be back at Lake Houston August 28th & 29th for the 8th of 9 Houston Weekend Team Series & Individual Series events.
