‘WAL-MART FLW OUTDOORS’ TV AIRS CONCLUSION OF 2005 CHEVY OPEN ON POTOMAC RIVER

Tune in Sunday, July 31, to “Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors” on FSN for the conclusion of the $1.25 million Chevy Open presented by Kellogg’s on the Potomac River. Watch as co-hosts Charlie Evans and Keith Lebowitz take viewers through the final weigh-in and award the winning pro angler $200,000.

The one-hour show is the second of a two-part series covering the final regular-season event of the 2005 FLW Tour season. On-the-water cameras give viewers an intimate look at the 10 finalists who compete for a career-changing top prize. All anglers start day three at zero weight, with the winning pro determined on day four based on the heaviest two-day weight. Finalists are survivors of two days of qualifying competition that pitted them against a field of the world’s best bass anglers.

The July 31 show presents several mini-features with the 10 pros that made the cutoff after two days of competition. The features include FLW Tour pros Mike Iaconelli of Runnemede, N.J., Sam Newby of Pocola, Okla., and Clark Wendlandt of Cedar Park, Texas.

Iaconelli caught the largest sack during the third day of competition on the Potomac. His five-bass limit on Friday weighed 21 pounds even, which gave him a 3-pound, 12-ounce lead heading into the final day. However, all 10 pros landed five-bass limits on day three and several were within striking distance of Iaconelli.

FSN also follows the dramatic conclusion to the 2005 Land O’Lakes Angler of the Year race between Toshinari Namiki, of Tokyo, and Greg Hackney of Gonzales, La. Heading into the final day of competition, Hackney held a seven-point lead on Namiki. However, a massive sack of fish from Namiki Saturday could push him towards the title.

In addition, FLW Tour pro Dave Lefebre of Erie, Pa., participates in this edition of Fishing 101. Lefebre, who finished fifth in the FLW Tour standings, demonstrates how to achieve greater distance on casts.

FSN is the industry leader in providing the most up-to-date technology in television production. FSN puts viewers in the boats with the pros, shadowing them from sunrise until the final weigh-in using innovative camerawork that gives fishing fans the most intimate viewing experience available.
