WHAT: The 2015 Walmart Bass Fishing League continues its tournament season with three tournaments the weekend of Saturday, March 28, 2015. The Bulldog Division tournament will be fishing on Lake Sinclair, the North Carolina Division stops at Lake Wylie and the Okie Division will take on the Arkansas River. Up to 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000 respectively in the one-day events.

NOTES: The fishing on Lake Sinclair is expected to be good. Local reports indicate fish are taking advantage of warmer temperatures and are moving towards their spawning grounds. They’re being reported as especially active on shallow sandy points and flats where there is an abundance of baitfish. Natural cover like stumps, brush and rocks could also produce for tournament anglers. Crankbaits, prop baits, spinnerbaits and jerkbaits are all expected to be popular baits in this event. A five-bass limit nearing 19 pounds is expected to win this tournament.

NOTES: Due to warmer temperatures in the area, Lake Wylie bass have been in a feeding frenzy, which means a solid day of fishing is in store for tournament anglers. Fishing reports indicate major creeks like Beaverdam Creek and Mills Creek have been producing well in cloudy conditions with swimbaits and jerkbaits. Bass are also being reported as feeding on crawfish and bream near docks and riprap banks. These fish will be targeted with jigs and Rapala Shad Raps. Fans can expect to see an 18-pound, five-bass stringer winning this tournament.
Okie Division

NOTES: Anglers can expect a quality day of fishing on the Arkansas River. Local reports indicate bass were biting fairly well on jerkbaits and black and blue-colored jigs along river points. Cool weather has slowed activity, but anglers will still be able to find bass moving up the creeks if temperatures continue to increase. Crankbaits, jigs and jerkbaits will be favored in tournament settings this time of year. A five-bass limit nearing 20 pounds will most likely take top honors.
The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 120 tournaments throughout the season, five in each division. The top 50 boaters and co-anglers from each division qualify for a regional tournament and are competing to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American. The 2015 BFL All-American is being held June 18-20 on Kentucky Lake in Buchanan, Tenn. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the Rayovac FLW Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
