Wayne Miller & Terry Czarnowsky WIN

Anglers Quest 2007 Twin Lake Saturday Series #14 on Lake Houston out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 34 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $1090.00 purse. The event began at safe light which was 6:10 am. Weigh-in was conducted at 3:15 pm.

This Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2008 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston. A special Top 7 group of teams will qualify to go to the Guaranteed $10,000.00 to the winning team “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team.

Lake Houston water was running and alot off color from all the recent rains and about 1 ft below normal pool level with water temps running 80-84 degrees. The weather at take-off was a calm 76 degrees with a warming to 90 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing has been getting better on Lake Houston as there were 5 limits brought to the scales today, a total of 49 bass at 101.68 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.07 lb.

It was the Superior Paint Inc., team of Wayne Miller & Terry Czarnowsky from Houston, Tx running to numerous areas of the East Fork in Wayne’s Ranger/Mercury rig to catch their limit of bass by flipping Texas rigged worms in 4-10 ft of water, around points and channel bends. Wayne & Terry weighed 5 bass at 13.47 lbs to finish in 1st place and allowed them to collect $600.00 for their day on the water.

Jeff Stanley & Jimmy Emmons Jr from Humble, Tx ran Jeff’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to the north lake creek areas of Lake Houston to finish in 2nd with their best 5 bass, caught on Texas rigged plastics that tipped the scales at 12.15 lbs. Jeff & Jimmy had a very nice limit of bass with a nice kicker to garner 2nd Big Bass at 3.89 lbs giving them a total payday of $355.00 for their day on the lake.

Greg Crawford from Humble, Tx ran his Nitro/Mercury bass rig to a 3rd place finish with a limit of bass that tipped the scales at 9.53 lbs to collect $205.00 for his day on the water. Greg reported catching his limit on Texas rigged craw worms & small crank baits around shallow cover in the Luces Bayou area.

The Big Bass of the event was a fine 4.36 lber brought to the scales by the TIREMAX wrapped Ranger/Yamaha rig of Ricky & Charlotte Guy. Charlotte reported catching the Big Bass on a Texas rigged brush hog in 6 ft of water and collected $100 for that 1 bite.

Anglers Quest’s next event will be the 17th of 23 Tuesday Series on Lake Houston at Lake Houston Marina on July 24th Entry fee is $70.00 & take off will be at 6pm weigh in will be at 9:15 pm. July 25th A/Q will be at the 17th of 23 Wednesday Series on Lake Conroe with $60.00 team entry fee hosted from Inland Discount Marine, takeoff will be at 6pm and weigh in at 9:15 pm.
