Anglers Quest 2010 Sam Rayburn Individual Series Championship is now in the books, and the Individual Series for Sam Rayburn is complete for 2010. The event began on Friday evening with dinner & drinks at The Stump and the presentation of the special ” Anglers Quest Goal Post” to the new “2010 Angler of the Year”, Ricky Guy, Ricky will receive free paid entries to all A/Q Sam Rayburn Individual Series Events in 2011. The Calcutta Auction followed and sold Individuals from $50 to $150 and raised $690.00 to add to the anglers pot. As at all Anglers Quest Championship auctions, there were 10 Limit Stix American Rodsmiths rods auctioned off to raise $ for the “Tournament of Champions” coming up at Lake Palestine in November.

The weather was clear and very nice on Sunday with low 50’s at daybreak to high 70’s during the day with a brisk northerly breeze for the event on Lake Livingston. As the event got underway with the 9 qualified individuals taking off into the dim morning light from their choice of launch ramps around the lake at 6:50 am because of the lake conditions beig 8 ft low. The anglers were all going for the $3,280.00 purse that was the payback by Anglers Quest at this Championship event. The water at Big Sam was in good condition. At the end of the day the 9 teams brought in 2 limits of bass, 24 fish that totaled 52.85 lbs with a 2.20 avg.

Chris DiBerardino from Huffman run his Bass Guard wrapped BassCat/Mercury to Caney creek areas and brought in 5 bass at 8.93 lbs to collect the Santone & ZZ Lures gift certificates.

Gary Miettinen from Channelview brought the 2nd Big Bass to the scales at 4.29 lbs to collect $180.00 for his one bite, caught on a white spinnerbait. Ricky Guy from Humble fished this event from his Tiremax wrapped BassCat/Rude Bowden Marine ride and brought in 5 bass at 10.34 lbs to claim 2nd place and $640.00. Ricky did purchase himself in the Calcutta auction on Friday night for $120.00. Ricky received a check for his 2nd place finish for $275.00. Ricky received a total of $915.00 for his day on the water.

Wayne Triana Jr from Nacogdoches ran his Skeeter/Yamaha to undisclosed creek areas using his Dave Settle prepared Custom Angle Rods tipped with spinner baits & tx rigged worms. Wayne came to the scales with 3 bass at 10.41 lbs to give him the 1st place finish and collected $1500.00. One of Wayne’s Bass was the 1st Big Bass of the event at 5.83 lbs and he collected $270.00 for that one bite. Wayne did purchase himself in the Calcutta auction for $50.00 and laid claim to $415.00 for his 1st place finish. Wayne collected a total of $2185.00 for his day on the water….Good Job!!.

Anglers Quest 2011 Schedules are now available online at the anglers-quest website. The 1st events for the 2011 season will be the Saturday Series Team event on Sam Rayburn, January 8, & the Individual event on January 9, 2011.
