What is T-Match?

T-Match is totally new tournament concept that pairs Team anglers in head to head competition every 3 weeks, starting March 1st, 2007. This format gives Teams the freedom to choose the lake they want to compete on, the hours of the event, and the day on which to hold the tournament. T-Match eliminates crowded boat ramps and lakes, while allowing anglers to compete on lakes that in the past were considered too small for a large tournament trail. T-Match brings new opportunities for our anglers in 2007!

Each pairing has the total freedom to choose which lake the competition will be held on. The lake determined can consist of any body of water you choose. If both Teams can mutually agree on a body of water to compete on then the match will occur there. However each match pairing also designates default lakes, which are located in the appropriate geographical area, to settle any disputes that arise from lake selection. Anglers Quest will use a state of the art computer draw program to issue the Match Lake from the default Lakes that are located in the geographical area, in the event the selected Teams cannot agree upon another body of water to fish.

Teams may choose anytime or any day to compete for their match, the only restriction is each match must be a minimum of 3 hours long. Additionally each match must occur during the three-week period assigned to the bracket and each match must determine a winner. Additional fishing time or days may be added to the match to determine a winner.

The heaviest five fish stringer per Team will determine each match. Before each match starts the competitors must agree upon a single scale to be used to weigh the fish with. The Team with the highest weight wins the match.

It is the winners’ responsibility to call 281-852-8842 before the match deadline to report the completed match results to the Anglers Quest headquarters. The T-Match series is set up with a double elimination format. Teams who lose a match will then move to the losers bracket. They will then compete until they lose another match. A match between the final angler in the winners’ bracket and loser’s bracket will establish the winner. The winner’s bracket winner must lose 2 Matches to the Loser’s bracket winner to be a loser.

T-Match pairings will be determined by the number your team receives when you sign up for T-MATCH. The numbers will be randomly assigned to a double elimination bracket sheet after all entries are completed. Competitors can access this information for each match by calling Anglers Quest at 281-852-8842 or by going to the T-Match section online at the Anglers-Quest website.

In the event that Teams cannot establish communication within 7 days of T-Match pairings, Team must contact Anglers Quest immediately. Upon contacting Anglers Quest, a 48-hour notice will be issued to both Teams by Anglers Quest. If communication and match details are not established during this 7-day period, the Team that fails to contact Anglers Quest and establish match play, will forfeit the match.

Once a match meeting location and time has been established it is the Teams responsibility to arrive on time. Teams should arrive no more than 30 minutes late for the start of the determined match or they will forfeit the match. It is strongly recommended that each T-Match Team exchange cell phone numbers in the event that a Team is experiencing mechanical problems or other emergencies.

Arriving to the predetermined weigh-in location on time is each Teams responsibility. Teams must “synch” their watches before the start of the match and can verify the time by calling Anglers Quest at 281-852-8842, which has official tournament time. Any Team arriving to the weigh-in location late will forfeit the match.

Check amounts paid back will begin at round 1 in the winners and losers bracket and the amounts will be set on March 1, 2007. The 95% cash payback amounts will be based on the number of entries. Checks will be mailed out within 24 hrs after completion of each round. A sample payback on 24 entries would pay $200 per rd win in every winners bracket match and $100 in every losers bracket match, paying the overall winner $4200.00 and the runner up $2200.00. The winner and runner up T-MATCH teams also will qualify to go to the season ending Anglers Quest “Tournament of Champions” at Lake Tyler on November 10-11, which will pay the winning team $10,000.00.

Registration for T-Match begins immediately and ends on March 1st, 2007. All Teams pay a one-time entry fee of $500.00 for the entire 2007 season series. Register online at the Anglers-Quest website or by mailing your entry form to Anglers Quest 18923 Keyturn Lane Humble, Texas 77346 or fax to 281-852-8662 before March 1st, 2007. No entries will be accepted after March 1, 2007. First round pairings will be announced no later than March 2nd, 2007.
