Windy Windy Lake Bridgeport Had Many Couples Trapped in Small Coves All Day

Lake Bridgeport was the site for our third of six qualifying events for C.A.S.T. Metroplex Division. Windy lake conditions made travelling across the muddy waters extremely dangerous. Most couples trailered to the nearest boat ramp by their favorite fishing areas. However with the conditions that the couples faced they always manage to find fish on Bridgeport.

Topping the field at this event was Keith and Debra Pair from Granbury, with 5 fish weighing in at 10.49 lbs. to take 1st place honors. Keith and Debra also took home Big Bass honors with a whopping 7.29 lb. fish. Nice Fish!

The Pairs caught there fish on 7″ Blue Fleck Berkley Power Worms. They fished on the north end of the lake. What a coincidence! Debra won second place Big Bass last year with a 7.58 lb. fish and they win this tournament with a 7.29 lb. fish caught by Keith.

Our 2nd place finishers, Darrell and Tamika Maxey from Kennedale brought 5-fish to the scales weighing 6.66 lbs. Darrell and Tamika caught there fish mainly on tubes on the north end and fished some south too. In addition, they also won second place Big Bass with a 3.68 lb. smallmouth. Darrell caught this fish 10 minutes before weigh-in.

Finishing in 3rd place was the couple Steve Schiele and Lana Sauer of Lewisville. They brought 4-fish to the scales that weighed 3.72 lbs. Congratulations you two! I promise I will pronounce your last names right soon.

Our 4th place couple, John Staley and Page Cundiff, brought a limit in that weighed 3.30 lbs. to take home last place check. Also, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place couples won additional money from the Amon Carter event.

HUNDRED-DOLLAR BILL GAME!
A new Hundred-Dollar Game has begun at Bridgeport. The couples are struggling on guessing this hundred-dollar bill. I think I found one that might go a little longer. Who knows is it could go this month. Good Luck!

NEXT EVENT INFORMATION
Lake Whitney on May 20th we will hold our fourth qualifying event of 2001 season. Registration and Weigh-In will be held at Lakeside Village. Registration will be held Sunday morning at 5:00 a.m. until start time. Approximate start time will be 6:05 a.m.

I know many are concerned with the fish kill on Whitney. Most of the fish are being reported on the south end of the lake. It might have cleared up by now and I really don’t think TPWD really knows either. I have heard the fish on the north end of the lake are biting but I don’t know how well. We are going to stay with this month’s lake selection. Fishing is going the be the same as its been all season. We discovered that changing the lake in the middle of the season hurts the region.

COMMENTS FROM YOUR DIRECTORS
Well the season is now halfway over and we appreciate everyone that is still hanging in and participating with us. Fishing and Lake Conditions this year has been horrible on all area lakes. Bridgeport was a very windy tournament and I am proud everyone made back safely. That was probably the windiest day I have seen Lake Bridgeport. The Couple of The Year race is tightening up and it is going to be an interesting finish. Remember that C.A.S.T. recognizes the top six teams in all regions. We hope to see everyone on May 20th at Lake Whitney and tell your fishin friends to come out and fish with C.A.S.T. Metroplex. Good luck to you at Whitney.
