Wooten Wins Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division Event on Smith Mountain Lake

WHAT:Thomas Wooten of Huddleston, Va., caught a 5-bass limit weighing 15 pounds Saturday, June 19, 2010 to win $6,632 in the FLW BFL Shenandoah Division tournament on Smith Mountain Lake. Wooten was using Shaky heads in shallow water in the lower lake to sack his limit.

WHAT:Thomas Hassler of Woodstock, Va., caught three bass weighing 9 pounds, 9 ounces Saturday, June 19, 2010 to win $1,816 in the FLW BFL Shenandoah Co-angler Division on Smith Mountain Lake. Hassler was using a Carolina rig in deep water mid lake to bag is winning catch.

NOTES:The next BFL Shenandoah Division tournament is scheduled for July 10, at the James River in Richmond, Va. After the fifth Shenandoah Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Regional Championship at the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Va., on Oct. 7-9, for a chance to win a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
