Team Yamaha’s redfish anglers will be out in full force in Sarasota, Fla., for the inaugural Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series East Division tournament March 4-5, sponsored in part by Yamaha Outboards.
Competing Yamaha teams include Greg and Bill DeVault of Florida, two-time winners of the IFA Championship; Andrew Bostick of Marco Island, Fla. and Mark Miller of Plainfield, Ind., winners of the 2003 IFA Redfish Tour Team of the Year and 2004 Redfish Cup Team of the Year; Rick Murphy of Homestead, Fla. and Scott Guthrie of Jacksonville, Fla., winners of the 2004 IFA Redfish Tour Team of the Year; Fred and Diane Winters of Port Charlotte, Fla; Artie Price of New Port Richey and Mike Tindal of Mobile, Ala.; Howie Green and John Oliverio of Florida; Ron Hueston of Naples, Fla. and Chris Hueston of Miami, Fla.; and Geoff Page of Venice, Fla. and Ed Zyak of Jensen Beach, Fla.
Anglers will fish in teams of two for a cash prize of $25,000 and a chance to earn a spot in the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Championship in October. In addition, for teams placing from First through 75th Place, Yamaha will award bonus money if a member of the team is the original owner of his or her Yamaha outboard used to compete in the tournament.
Participants will fish for two days, launching at Sarasota’s Centennial Park 10th Street boat ramp at 7 a.m. and weighing in at 3 p.m. each day. Winners will be determined based on the team’s accumulated weight for both days.
