A sponsor of Old Salt Fishing Foundation’s King of the Beach tournament, Suzuki Repower by Mastry congratulates the first place winner in the Single Engine Division. The Boaters’ Republic team consisted of Captain Scotty Gramling, Gavin McClay, Jordan Hallsted and Anthony Boggini.
This first prize award was a fully rigged 2016 300 hp Suzuki Engine donated by Mastry Engine Center, a package valued over $20,000. The team’s early effort paid off as the 36.96 pound monster Kingfish took the bait around 6:50 a.m.
King of the Beach is one of Florida’s largest and most high-profile King and Spanish Mackerel tournaments. Total payouts for this year totaled $150,000. Six hundred boats competed in the event which also included marine and art vendors, food, live music, boat displays and a kids’ zone. It took place at the Madeira Beach Recreation Fields.
Suzuki RePower by Mastry focuses on the growing marine repower business, as well as service, parts and warranty. It continues to add locations across Florida. Since 1962, Mastry has been the company to turn to for challenging gas and diesel engine applications and installations.
