The 2015 Jake Jordan Invitational Sailfish Fly Challenge was held January 6-8, 2015 and set a new tournament record for fly fishing this year with seven boats of two-angler teams releasing 141 Sailfish and a Blue Marlin, all caught on the 20lb test class tippet on the Fly! Congrats to Team Decisive capturing First Place!
Opening Day of the tournament started off with a bang as boats released 82 Sailfish and a blue marlin on the fly. Our anglers followed up on the second of the tournament day with an additional 59 sailfish released on the fly. Although we had high hopes for s a strong third and final outing on the water, the rough seas had other plans and we were forced to cancel, and results stood as-is. For a few avid fly fisherman this was their first time fly fishing for billfish and still the average was 10 sailfish released on fly per boat per day! Now that’s a way to learn on the FLY!
