Anglers Quest 2010 Livingston Saturday Series #4 out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 58 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $3910.00 purse.
The event began at safe light, which was 6:35 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Livingston Saturday Series after all 9 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2011 Livingston Saturday Series events. The Top 10 teams in pounds and all teams that enter all 9 Livingston Saturday Series events will qualify for the Tournament of Champions Championship on November 13-14 on Lake Palestine.
Lake Livingston water was in decent shape and about normal pool level with water temps ranning 68-70 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 67 degrees with a warm up to 81 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was decent on Livingston today as there were 22 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 120 bass at 341.82 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.84 lb.
The team of Johnny Clawson Jr & Dalene Felder from Onalaska, Tx ran Johnny’s Astro/Mercury bass rig to Kickapoo Creek areas to catch 5 keeper bass throwing a chartruse/white spinner bait in 1-4 ft of water around brush using their American Rodsmiths & Airrus rods & Revo Reels. Johnny & Dalene had over 15 bass all day to cull to their best 5 keepers at 20.64 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $1500.00 for their day on the water. Johnny & Dalene had recently purchased a set of tires for their motorhome from Tiremax in Livingston and collected another $400.00 for that incentive bonus?It pays to buy your tires from Tiremax. They also had bought a Bass Guard Culling system and collected an additional $25.00 for the incentive bonus. Their weekend payed a total of $1925.00?Good Job!!
The team of Jeff Rood from Livingston & Ben Pope from Splendora ran Jeff’s Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to creek areas north of the 190 bridge to catch 5 keeper bass throwing spinner baits & jigs in 1-3 ft water around shoreline cover. Jeff & Ben had an awesome bag of bass that tipped the scales at 19.25 lbs to finish in 2nd place and collect $860.00 for their day on the water. They also had the Big Bass of the event a fine 5.88 lber to make them an additional $150.00 giving them a $1010.00 weekend.
The team of Toby Hartsell & Wade Ellis from Livingston ran Wade’s Nitro/Mercury bass rig to Pennwaugh creek and lake areas around Kickapoo creek to catch 5 keeper bass flipping jigs/craw worms in 1-4 ft water around piers with brush. Toby & Wade had a nice limit of bass at 17.26 lbs to finish in 3rd place and collect $575.00 for their day on the water.
The team of Larry Jenkins & Dale Hill from Livingston ran Dale’s Sidewinder/Yamaha bass rig to triple creek lake areas around Kickapoo creek to catch 5 keeper bass flipping jigs/craw worms in 1-4 ft water around shallow banks with brush. Larry & Dale had a nice limit of bass at 16.90 lbs to finish in 4th place and collect $345.00 for their day on the water.
The team of Curtis Jordan from Baytown & George Broussard from Wallisville ran Curtis’s VIP/Mercury bass rig to various creek areas to finish in 5th with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 16.20 lbs. They reported getting their bites flipping JR’s jigs in 1-5 ft water around brush. Their day on the water payed back $190.00 for their efforts.
The one man team of Johnny Myers from Livingston ran his Skeeter/Yamaha to undisclosed creek areas to finish in 6th place with a total of 5 bass that tipped the scales at 15.47 lbs and earned $145.00 for his day on the water. Jimmy Emmons Jr & Jeff Stanley collected the 1st place out of the money Gift Certificates from Santone & ZZ Lures for their day on the lake for their 5 bass at 15.40 lbs.
Anglers Quest will be at El Dorado Jack’s on Lake Conroe on Saturday April 17th & 18th for the 4th of 9 Conroe Saturday Series & Individual events. On April 24th & 25st A/Q will be at Lake Houston Marina on Lake Houston for the 4th of 9 Lake Houston Saturday & Individual events. Then on May 1st & 2nd A/Q will be at Mill Creek Park on Sam Rayburn for the 5th Saturday & Individual events. Remember to get your teams entry in early to get a low take off #, as they are issued when you enter.
