Anglers for Christ Ministries is embarking on a new journey by launching a new television series called “The Christian Angler”. The show is hosted by Tony Sellars, former professional fisherman and director of AFC Ministries. All filming and production is being maintained in house by the ministry staff.
After 18 months of production, the show is set to air this week. “The Christian Angler” has a simple goal: to blend great outdoor entertainment with strong Christian family values. The show will consist of all types of fishing from bass fishing in Florida to trout fishing in Arkansas. Along this journey many AFC Pro Staffers such as Jay Yelas, Shaw Grigsby, Lonnie Stanley, Guy Eaker, Randy Howell, Woo Daves and Mark Davis will join for great fishing fun, tips and testimonials. One of the main goals is to show the spiritual lives of some of Americaâs favorite fishermen. In addition to great tips and testimonials each show will offer a special time of fun for the kids in “Reel Kids” with Hunter and Dane. This very special segment is hosted by Hunter Knight and Dane Odom featuring fishing for kids by kids.Â
All shows are very true to life. Not every show is filled with the 8-10 lb. lunker. You are guided from the dog days of summer to the very difficult heart aches of winter time fishing. Â Â
Sellars says that none of the production would be possible without their title sponsors Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards and Minor’s Marine. These sponsors are very excited about putting a Christian faith-based product on the market.Â
Yes, this show is a little unique but, today the world needs uplifting in their daily lives.
