Anglers Quest 2010 Sam Rayburn Individual Series #6 out of Mill Creek Park in Brookeland, TX began this event with 8 anglers showing up to fish for the $1130.00 purse. After the playing of the National Anthem this 6th Individual Series event was started at 5:45 am. The anglers had to be in line to weigh by 3:15 pm. This Rayburn Individual Series after all 9 events will provide the Angler of the year with free entries to all 2011 Rayburn Individual Series events.
FLASH – – All A/Q lake series championships have been reinstated for 2010 and will be done on home series lakes. The Top 25 anglers entering a minimum of 5 Rayburn Weekend Team series events will automatically qualify for the 1-day Sam Rayburn Weekend Team Championship in October. Any angler making the cut to any A/Q Championship will also be eligible for the “Tournament of Champions” at Lake Palestine in November.
Sam Rayburn water was in good shape and about 1 1/2 ft below normal pool level with water temps ranning 78-80 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a very calm 76 degrees with a warming to 96 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was pretty good on Big Sam today as there were 25 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 143 bass at 343.01 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.39 lb.
Ricky Guy from Humble, Tx ran his BassCat/Rude bass rig to Veach & Farmers flats around grass to catch his bass throwing frogs in shallow water. Ricky managed to cull to 5 keepers to finish in 1st place with 15.60 lbs. Ricky also had the Big Bass of the day at 5.58 lbs and collected $930.00 for his day on the water. $50 of Ricky’s winnings come from the Bass Guard Incentive Bonus program.
Tommy Hill from Kountze, Tx ran his Bullet/Mercury bass rig to south lake areas with scattered grass to finish in 2nd with his best 5 bass, caught using a variety of different baits in shallow water around grass & bushes that tipped the scales at 12.77 lbs. Tommy collected $160.00 for his day on the water. Larry Cotten actually was the 1st place out of the money with 5 bass at 11.00 lbs and received the gift certificates, Larry give the Santone Lures & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates to Keith Stephenson for his catch of 5 bass at 8.13 lbs.
