Bob & Cindy Bradberry Win Season Opener on Rayburn

With high winds and cooler temperatures the fish were difficult to pattern on Big Sam, on the first stop of the 1999 Cast S.E. tournament trail. Capturing the 1st place win was Bob & Cindy Bradberry from Spring TX, who managed to find 13.82 lbs. of fish up shallow ready to spawn. Their creel was anchored by an 8.08 lb.bass that also took Big Bass of the tournament.

It was nice to see that not all of Big Sam’s big bass were lost in the fish kill during the summer of 98. Bradberry said their fish were caught on lizards rigged Texas style, and if it wasn’t for their Continental Batteries they would never have been able to stay on their fishing spot.

Lester & Kym Springer of Humble Tx, came in second with a weight of 10.05 lbs. Lester is the Manager of Academy in Humble and it helps give him the inside track on what baits are working.

Third place went to Dan & Karen Nichol of Conroe Tx, their fish weigh in at 9.43 lbs. [email protected] information about the C.A.S.T. Southeast Couples Trail call Mike & Kelley Gaubatz at (409) 291-0662 .
